The annual Great Lakes Park Training (GLPTI) will return to Pokagon State Park near Angola, Indiana February 26-29, 2024. GLPTI, the longest continuously running training academy for park professionals in the nation, features educational sessions, networking opportunities, and social events in a unique and relaxed atmosphere.
For 2024, GLPTI is reprising the popular and successful Women’s Leadership in Parks Program. First offered in 2009, Executive Leadership for Women focused on developing female leaders for parks, recreation, and public lands management organizations who understand the importance of leadership, the characteristics that make women important in leading organizations, and how these characteristics tailor leadership style, self-knowledge, and competencies. The program will be led by highly accomplished women in the parks and recreation field and will feature 2 days of interaction, instruction, individual and group projects, and leadership training scenarios providing hands-on, practical learning to develop leadership skills. The program runs concurrently with GLPTI at Pokagon. More details will be provided in the GLPTI registration announcement.
